A survey of British and American literature from 1660 to 1865, with emphasis on major trends, influential writers, and the transatlantic dialogue that emerged following the American Revolution. Required of all English majors. Prerequisite: ENG 300, although students may petition to take ENG 300 as a co-requisite.
