ED 446 - Methods and Materials for Multisensory Language Arts Instruction |
This course addresses content related to multisensory instructional strategies that can be used to teach reading, writing, listening, speaking, and language as well as the application of structured literacy instruction and developmentally-appropriate assessment techniques that can be used in K-6 classrooms. Through targeted experiences in the university and elementary classroom settings, candidates will expand their knowledge and ability to apply the essential principles and practices of structured literacy instruction, multisensory teaching strategies to promote vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension, phonics and word recognition, automatic and fluent reading of text with a focus on comprehension, and professional dispositions and practices.
